Ring Size Guide

Our rings are listed in US ring sizes. Use the chart below to match a ring that already fits, or measure your finger at home, then choose that size on the product page. If you are between sizes or unsure, ask us before you order.

US Ring Size Chart

Inside diameter and inside circumference are in millimetres. EU sizes equal the circumference rounded to the nearest millimetre. UK letters are given for whole US sizes.

Ring Size Formula

US ring sizes follow a simple straight-line scale, so you can work out a size from a measurement yourself:

• Inside diameter (mm) = 11.63 + 0.8128 × US size
• US size = (inside diameter in mm − 11.63) ÷ 0.8128
• Circumference (mm) = inside diameter × 3.1416

Each whole US size adds about 0.81 mm to the inside diameter and about 2.55 mm to the circumference; a half size is half of that. For example, a ring with an inside diameter of 17.3 mm works out at (17.3 − 11.63) ÷ 0.8128 = 6.98, so it is a US size 7. A strip of paper that measures 51.9 mm around your finger gives a diameter of 51.9 ÷ 3.1416 = 16.5 mm, which is a US size 6.

Three Ways to Find Your Size

1. Use a Ring That Already Fits

Choose a ring that fits the same finger comfortably. Lay it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, from inner edge to inner edge, in millimetres, or lay it on the circles in our printable ring sizer. Find the closest diameter in the chart. If it falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.

2. Measure with a Strip of Paper

Cut a thin strip of paper, or use the strip in our printable sizer, wrap it snugly around the base of your finger, and mark where it overlaps. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres: that is your circumference. Find the closest circumference in the chart. Paper and string can stretch or slip, so measure three or four times and use the most consistent result.

3. Visit a Jeweler

A jeweler's ring sizer is the most accurate method, especially for a ring you will wear every day.

Tips for an Accurate Size

• Measure at the end of the day, when your hands are warm. Fingers are smaller in the morning and in the cold.
• Check the knuckle. The ring must slide over your knuckle, so if your knuckle is large, size for the knuckle.
• Wide bands fit tighter. For bands about 6 mm wide or more, many people need a quarter to half size larger.
• Use the right hand and finger. Your dominant hand is often slightly larger.
• Engagement ring and wedding band are usually ordered in the same size.

Sizing for a Surprise Proposal

Borrow a ring your partner wears on the ring finger of the same hand and measure its inside diameter, or ask a close friend or family member. If you have to guess, a slightly larger size is safer: making a ring smaller is usually simpler than making it bigger.

Before You Order

• Check that you have selected the right US size on the product page.
• For a bridal set, check that the size applies to both rings.
• Full eternity bands, with stones all the way round, generally cannot be resized, so measure carefully.
• Resized pieces are final sale, so if you are unsure, ask us before ordering.
