Protecting the Corners

The four sharp corners are the most exposed part of the stone. Our princess settings place a prong over each corner so a knock lands on metal, not on the diamond. If you work with your hands, a halo adds another layer of protection around the edge.

As a guide, a 1 ct princess is about 5.5 mm on each side, 2 ct about 6.9 mm and 3 ct about 7.9 mm. Measured corner to corner it spans more, so on the finger it can look as wide as a slightly larger round.
