Solitaire, Halo or Statement

Most pieces here are solitaires: a single round, pear, cushion or emerald stone held in prongs or a bezel. For more presence, choose a halo pendant, where a ring of small stones frames the centre. The collection also includes a few statement designs, such as a butterfly pendant, hip-hop pendants and a very large Portuguese cut stone in a bezel.

Picking a Stone Size

A pendant is seen from further away than a ring, so a stone that feels large on the finger looks more modest at the neck. Around 1 to 2 ct suits everyday wear, while 3 ct and above reads as a statement. Each listing gives the stone size in millimetres, and our size chart helps you compare.

Chain Length

  • 16 inches: sits close to the collarbone; good with open necklines.
  • 18 inches: falls just below the collarbone; the most common choice.
  • 20 inches and longer: sits lower and works over higher necklines.

Colorless or Colored

Caring for It

Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs scale and keeps its sparkle with simple cleaning: warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush. Take your necklace off before swimming and sleeping so the chain does not kink or catch.

925 sterling silver keeps the cost down but can tarnish over time and needs an occasional polish. Solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold does not tarnish and suits daily wear.
